saywellcarpentry.comAbout the project
Saywell Carpentry Co. builds custom additions, pool houses, outdoor rooms and fine finish carpentry for homes across Vaughan and York Region. The work is photographed beautifully and sells itself — so the site gets out of its way. Full-bleed imagery, an editorial serif, and a structure that treats every completed build as its own case study.
Services
- Brand Identity
- Website Design
- Website Development
- Local SEO Foundation
01 — Homepage
The work opens the page.
A rotating full-bleed hero of completed builds, captioned with the project and its location, with the trade services set inline above the headline. For a builder whose photography is this good, the strongest opening argument is simply the work at full size.

02 — Mobile
The same impact at 390px.
The hero holds its full-bleed treatment on a phone rather than shrinking to a banner. Call and enquiry sit side by side above the fold, and the slideshow keeps its counter and pause control so the imagery stays browsable rather than automatic.

03 — Portfolio
Every build, filterable.
The portfolio is the centre of the site, not an afterthought page. Category filters let a homeowner go straight to the kind of build they are planning, and each project opens into its own page rather than a lightbox.

04 — Project detail
Each build documented properly.
Project, location, category and builder set as a structured record above the description, so the detail reads like a specification rather than a caption. Where a build involved one of Saywell's trade or design partners, that firm is credited inline on its own project rather than buried in a footer.

05 — Gallery
Photography at full width.
Beneath each project record the gallery runs edge to edge in a staggered mosaic, sized so a single build can hold the full width when it deserves to. No lightbox, no thumbnails to click through — the photography is the point, so it is presented at the size it was shot for.

06 — Services
Written the way clients ask for it.
Numbered services alternate image and copy at full bleed — pool houses and cabanas, outdoor living, finish carpentry. Each names the work in the words a homeowner would use, with a direct enquiry link rather than a generic contact button.

07 — Local search
Built to be found in the right towns.
Dedicated location pages for Vaughan and the surrounding York Region communities, each written for that market rather than templated — because a homeowner searching for a builder searches with a place name attached.

What I Built
